Sheet Metal Parts Without Tooling Costs

Laser cutting and CNC press-brake bending need no dedicated dies, which makes them ideal for small batch sheet metal fabrication. You can order 5 enclosures for testing, then 200 for a pilot run, without paying for stamping tools.

When volumes grow, our engineers can advise when it becomes worth moving selected parts to stamping.

Typical sheet metal parts

  • Electrical enclosures and control boxes
  • L-brackets, U-brackets and mounting plates
  • Equipment panels, covers and guards
  • Server, instrument and device chassis
  • Welded frames and small assemblies

Sheet Metal Fabrication Capabilities

Laser Cutting

Precise profiles, holes and slots in steel, stainless steel and aluminum sheet.

CNC Bending

Press-brake forming for boxes, brackets and multi-bend parts.

Welding

Spot, TIG and MIG welding with grinding and finishing of welds.

Hardware & Assembly

PEM nuts, studs and standoffs, tapping, riveting and sub-assembly.

Sheet Metal Materials and Finishes

MaterialNotes
Cold rolled steel (SPCC)Economical, usually powder coated or plated
Galvanized steel (SGCC)Corrosion resistant for indoor equipment
Stainless steel 304 / 316Brushed, polished or passivated
Aluminum 5052 / 6061Lightweight, anodized or powder coated
Copper / brassElectrical and decorative parts

Finishes: powder coating, painting, zinc plating, anodizing, brushing, sandblasting, silk-screen printing and laser marking.

Design Tips for Low-Cost Sheet Metal Parts

  • Use one material thickness per part where possible
  • Keep a consistent inside bend radius
  • Keep holes away from bend lines (at least 2× thickness)
  • Use self-clinching hardware instead of welded nuts
  • Send a flat pattern (DXF) if you have one — it speeds quoting

Our Ordering Process

  1. Send drawing

Upload 2D/3D files with quantity, material and finish.

  2. DFM review

Our engineer checks manufacturability and cost drivers.

  3. Quotation

Clear unit price, lead time and any minimum charge.

  4. First article

Optional sample for your approval before the batch.

  5. Inspect & ship

Dimensional inspection, protective packing, worldwide delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum quantity for sheet metal parts?

We accept prototype quantities from 1 piece. Because laser cutting and bending need no dedicated dies, small batches stay economical.

Which files do you need for sheet metal quotes?

A 3D model (STEP) is preferred. A DXF flat pattern and a PDF drawing with bend and hardware information help speed up quoting.

Can you powder coat sheet metal parts?

Yes. We offer powder coating in common RAL colors, plus plating, anodizing (aluminum) and brushing.

Can you assemble sheet metal with machined parts?

Yes. We can combine sheet metal, CNC machined parts and hardware into a sub-assembly.

Have a Drawing? Let’s Review Your Project.

Send your PDF, STEP or DWG file with quantity and material. An engineer reviews every drawing and replies with a quotation and DFM suggestions — usually within 24 hours.
